Kadhal Kottai (காதல் கோட்டை) is a Tamil film in which Ajith Kumar and Devayani play major roles. Heera Rajgopal, Thalaivasal Vijay, and Karan play important roles. The film won the National Film Award for Best Directing and Best hero for Ajithkumar for 1996. It was directed by Agathiyan. Agathiyan himself remade this movie in Hindi titled Sirf Tum.The film is inspired from the 1940 Hollywood movie The shop around the corner.The plot revolves around two introvert hearts falling in unconditional love without seeing each other until the climax. This was the second film by Agathiyan-Ajith combo following Vaanmathi.
