Mankatha team watches ‘Mankatha’

It was a special moment for the unit members of ‘Mankatha’ as they happened to come together along with their families. Yesterday, ‘Mankatha’ was screened for the members of the unit at Gemini Lab Preview theater and it was a very special occasion as Thala Ajith Kumar was present there. Vaibhav immediately tweeted saying that it’s a wonderful day as he is watching the film with ‘Thala’.

On the other end, editor of the film – Praveen KL was so floored by the gesture of Thala as he hugged him soon after the film was over. Shedding light on the film, he said, ‘Never seen such a wonderful first copy throughout my career. It has been done with an excellent panache. Thala is super and Venkat Prabhu rocks. Get ready to go blown away by this outstanding piece of work.’

‘Mankatha’ is hitting screens worldwide on August 31, 2011(31+8+11=50 This is thala’s 50th flim!!!) and there are more exciting news coming up on the way. Keep logging to this column for more updates on this film.

    Now in Abirami Mega mall ticket booking is opened, First day only booked. Kindly book the tickets on all days. If you are thala true fans first book the ticket. Without booking dont say i am thala fans. It is not enough for us. First do the booking.

    In chennai only maayajal only having tickets for 1st day you know because they playing only mankaatha for first three days nearly 60 shows per day in maayajal so only getting tickets there i have booked 12 tickets for 12.06pm show.. first show is at 8am.. from 8am to 11.00 am there are almost 15 shows all are booked.. tickets are available only from 11.30 show and second thing albert theatre having little tickets on 1st september.. balance all theaters all house full for 1 week and maximum booked for 10days.. see in http://www.ticketnew.com. guys first time kamala theater playing thala movie that too in 2screens its house for 1week guys..     Hi guys, I listened to Vijay’s velayudham songs, not even a single song is catchy, all songs are boring, so Mankatha has super duper hit songs than Velayudham, vijay’s songs are failed, this time everything will come right to THALA. I hope even surya’s 7m arivu songs should not be good, definitely it will not be better than MANKATHA. These are all indicating that this year’s biggest blockbuster will be MANKATHA. Vijay and suryku get out, nama Thalaiku cut out.

    In a press statement Ashok Parwani, Sony Music Entertainment Chennai, said, “We are overwhelmed with the response the movie and the music have received. Velayudham has broken all records and we have sold all our units within a day of its launch. The soundtracks are original, soulful and memorable. We’re sure that the compositions will go down in history as some of the best melodies of our times.”

    The audio launch held in Madurai on August 28th was a grand success with over one lakh Vijay fans attending the event. And to add to this success, all the audio CDs were sold on day one of the audio launch. This has created a new record!

    Music director Vijay Antony has scored the music for Velayutham and the six tracks in the film are: Rathathin Rathamay (Haricharan, Madhumitha), Molachu Moonu (Prasanna, Supriya Joshi), Chillax (Karthik, Charulatha Mani Mayam), Seidhayo (Sangeetha Rajeshwaran), Sonna Puriyadhu (Vijay Antony, Veera Shankar), Vela Vela (Vijay Antony, Mark).

    Ajith’s 50th film is releasing big worldwide. The exact number of screens is not available. But it has created a huge hype and big buzz all over and is sure to take an awesome opening.

    However in Chennai city, the film is opening in 19 screens and advance booking has been phenomenal. The film is assured of a great opening as there are four holidays -Aug 31(Ramzan), Sep 1(Vinayaka Chathurthi) and Sep 3&4 (Sat & Sun), which allows the theatres five shows per day.

    The 14-screen multiplex Mayajaal on ECR is having 60 shows per day, which has never happened before. In Mount Road area 10 screens with a total capacity of approximately 7250 seats per show is screening the
    film!

    Mankatha has already opened today (Aug 30) in key overseas markets. The report coming in from Malaysia and Singapore where the film’s first official show was held is positive.

    Any which way you look the Venkat Prabhu directed Mankatha is going to take 2011’s best ever opening at the Tamil Nadu box-office.
