Ajith is a changed man. Earlier, he would speak nineteen to the dozen. But now, his words are so measured and few.

In an interview to a popular weekly, Ajith spoke in a philosophical tone about victory and defeat. Here is an excerpt from that interview.

“I do not think about defeat or victory in my career. As one grows older, there are physical changes and mentally also, one should change accordingly. So, I don’t take too many things seriously nowadays. I believe that there is life beyond cinema. If a film flops, I think this will also pass and work extra hard for the next film. If a film is a hit, I know that this will also pass. I feel I should not be troubled by victory or defeat. I am very clear nowadays. I work harder then ever.

We learn a lot of things in the first 20 years of our lives. For the next 20 years after that, that is from 20 to 40, we go around with an arrogant air, that we know everything. In the next 20 years, from 40 to 60, we think that we have not done anything and it is all god’s grace. In another 3 years, I will be 40. So I’m adjusting to that. I don’t ruminate too much on anything and confuse myself. What should happen to us will happen at the prescribed time. Nothing can stop whatever is meant to be. Similarly, what is not meant for us will not happen. I am very clear about this.

To be at peace and anger should be used as weapons. Some things have to be spoken. Some should definitely not be spoken. One needs time to understand this way of thinking. I have behaved and spoken according to my age at the time.â€
