It will not be an exaggerated statement to say that Director Ameer has created a niche for himself in the film industry. His Paruthiveeran has been talked about all over the world and it was recently reported in some sections of the media that Paruthiveeran’s screenplay has been sited as a model for aspiring screenplay students pursuing a course in media.

Recently when the director was questioned about his opinion on remaking old films, he said, “I feel there is nothing wrong in remaking an old commercial potboiler. However, I am totally against remaking legendary films as it would only be an insult to the previous effort and such films should be left alone”. To a question on what film would he like to remake if given such an opportunity, Ameer said, “I would be too happy to remake Bale Pandiya with Ajith doing Sivaji’s role.” He further added that Ajith is one actor he would like to work with. To a poser on award films, Ameer said that he does not want to continuously give award films but would also like to direct good commercially entertaining films.
